Hi, I’m Sophie 👋 and I started this project because I’d simply had enough.
Enough of buying bottled water thinking I was making the healthy choice. Studies show that bottled water contains microplastics from the plastic itself, and recent scandals have revealed the presence of PFAS and other contaminants in several well-known brands — pollutants from the source or industrial processes that don’t get nearly enough attention. Not to mention the environmental impact: billions of bottles produced every year, ending up in the oceans or landfills.
Why this site exists 🌊
When I started looking for a water filter, I was overwhelmed by contradictory information, sponsored reviews, and comparisons written by people who had clearly never held a filter in their hands. It took me weeks to find a clear answer to a simple question: which filter should I choose to have clean water at home, without destroying the planet?
Clean My Water was born from that frustration. With a few people sharing the same belief — that clean water should be accessible to everyone, not reserved for experts or the wealthy — we decided to do the work nobody seemed willing to do: honest tests, readable comparisons, and advice that fits real life.

What we really stand for ♻️
Our conviction is simple: filtered tap water is almost always better than bottled water — for your health, your wallet, and the planet. Plastic bottles release microplastics and endocrine disruptors (phthalates, BPA) into the water. And beyond the container, the water itself isn’t spared: recent studies and scandals have highlighted the presence of PFAS and other pollutants in some well-known brands. Paradoxically, tap water is subject to far stricter and more frequent controls.
