Summary of our Fluide filter review ⭐4.2/5
The keyword “Fluide filter review” calls for a concrete answer: how much does it cost, what does the filter really remove, is the installation realistic, and is buying it better than sticking with bottles or a filter jug? On these points, Fluide provides more information than many brands: published prices, capacity, claimed standards and an installation tutorial.
Our verdict: Fluide Ultra is a smart choice for a household that drinks a lot of tap water and wants discreet under-sink filtration. The upfront cost is high in the first year, but the cost becomes clearer afterwards with the annual cartridge replacement. The product makes the most sense if you want to target PFAS, microplastics and emerging contaminants without going for a reverse osmosis system.
| Key data | Fluide Ultra filter | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Kit price, 1st year | 298 € | Kit + Ultra cartridge included: this is the real starting cost. |
| Ultra cartridge | 199 €, to be replaced once a year | Around 3.83 €/week after the first year. |
| Claimed capacity | 11,300 L / 12 months | More than enough for typical household use. |
| Claimed flow rate | 4 L/min | Fill a jug or saucepan without an excessive wait. |
| Dimensions | 37 cm high × 8 cm diameter according to the FAQ | Measure before buying if your under-sink cabinet is already full. |
| Company | French subsidiary of the Mistral group | Claimed French expertise, without asserting 100% French manufacturing. |
Filtration performance: contaminants and available evidence
The version to focus on is the Ultra Filter, as it carries the broadest claims: enhanced activated carbon + hollow-fibre membranes at 0.1 micron. Fluide says its filtration is designed to improve taste, but also to target more sensitive contaminants.
| Contaminant / criterion | Fluide Ultra claim | Standard cited |
|---|---|---|
| Chlorine, taste, odour | Complete removal claimed | NSF/ANSI 42 |
| PFAS | >99% of Total PFAS according to Fluide | NSF/ANSI 53 |
| Pesticides / pharmaceuticals | >85% of emerging contaminants claimed | NSF/ANSI 401 |
| Microplastics / sediment | Physical barrier at 0.1 micron | Ultrafiltration |
| Bacteria | >99.99% claimed | 0.1 micron membrane |
| Water contact / materials | Equipment claimed compliant | ACS |
On the plus side, Fluide links to a declaration of conformity and laboratory test results. That’s better than a mere marketing promise. Our caveat: these results should be read as performance achieved under test conditions, not as an automatic guarantee if the cartridge is past its lifespan, badly installed or used on unsuitable water.
Fluide is designed for cold mains water that is already drinkable. The brand states that it isn’t the right solution for well water. For borehole water, rainwater or water you have doubts about, have it tested before choosing a treatment.

Under-sink installation: the practical steps
🏆 Best under-sink filter: our comparison
All options compared to help you choose.
Fluide claims a 10-minute installation, or around 15 minutes if you fix the filter head to the cabinet or wall. The advantage is that the system connects between the cold water supply and your existing tap: no separate tap to drill for, no pump, no electrical connection.
- Turn off the cold water under the sink.
- Unscrew the existing hose between the tap and the water supply, with a bowl to catch any remaining water.
- Reconnect the supplied hoses to the cold water supply and the tap; 3/8 and 1/2 adapters included.
- Clip on the filter head: IN on the water supply side, OUT on the tap side, then refit the safety rings.
- Turn the water back on and let it run for 3 minutes to activate the cartridge.
Check before buying: the filter housing measures 37 cm high and 8 cm in diameter according to the Fluide FAQ, the maximum supported pressure is 6 bar and it is designed for water between 4 °C and 38 °C. If you’d rather not do it yourself, Fluide mentions installation via MesDépanneurs for a flat fee of 120 €.
Price, cartridge and real cost of the Fluide filter
The exact price depends on the version you choose. At our August 2026 check, the kit shown on the official website is the Invisible Ultra Filter Kit at 298 €. It includes the filtration kit at 99 € and the Ultra Filter at 199 €. The brand also lists an Essentiel version at 139 € for the cartridge alone. For the annual replacement, Fluide also offers a cartridge subscription (automatic delivery every year, at a reduced price): it comes with no commitment and can be cancelled at any time, it only covers the cartridge and isn’t required to use the filter.
| Cost item | Observed price | Clean My Water’s take |
|---|---|---|
| Ultra kit, 1st year | 298 € | Around 5.73 €/week in the first year. |
| Annual Ultra cartridge | 199 € | Around 3.83 €/week after the first year. |
| Ultra cartridge subscription | 179 €/year then 169 €/year | This is the price of the automatically renewed cartridge, not a cost on top of buying the cartridge individually. No commitment, cancel at any time. |
| Essentiel cartridge | 139 € | Cheaper, but covers fewer contaminants than the Ultra. |
| Professional installation | 120 € quoted via a partner | Only worth budgeting for if you don’t want to touch the plumbing. |
Fluide estimates that a household of 4 drinking 13 bottles of 1.5 L per week spends around 473 €/year on bottled water, i.e. 676 bottles/year. By comparison, the Ultra kit at 298 € saves around 175 € in the first year, then the Ultra cartridge at 199 € saves around 274 € per year. This calculation remains an estimate: it depends on what you pay for bottled water and your actual consumption.
💧 Fluide pays for itself versus bottled water from the 1st year
One cartridge a year, no more water packs to carry — no commitment
Pros and limitations to know about
Fluide doesn’t need to be presented as “the best choice for everyone”. Its appeal is clearest in one specific case: you want better-tasting water from the tap, without filling a jug, without buying bottles and without installing a bulky, visible system.

| Reader profile | Our verdict |
|---|---|
| Family buying lots of bottled water | Highly relevant: potential savings, less plastic and an annual cartridge. |
| Tenant | Generally compatible: reversible connection between the cold water supply and the tap. |
| Small, already cluttered under-sink cabinet | Measure before buying: 37 cm high and 8 cm in diameter. |
| Well / borehole water | Not recommended: Fluide is designed for mains water that is already drinkable. |
| Looking for official certification | A plus: NSF/ANSI and ACS standards cited, with a test report PDF. Read it before buying if you have a specific contaminant in mind. |
Our verdict: should you buy the Fluide filter?
Yes, Fluide Ultra is clearly worth considering if you want to replace bottled water with a discreet under-sink solution, backed by hard figures and tests highlighted by the brand. The product costs more than a filter jug, but it’s not in the same category: annual capacity, flow straight from the tap, invisible installation, no manual refilling.
I’d be more cautious if your goal is to treat non-drinkable water, well water or a very specific problem without reading the reports. In that case, you need to start with a water analysis and check that the targeted contaminant is actually covered by the published tests.
Made in France? I won’t state it as such: Fluide’s sources confirm a French company, a subsidiary of the Mistral group, with claimed French expertise. They aren’t enough to assert that every component is produced in France.
Fluide Ultra, the under-sink filter you’ll forget is there
Enhanced activated carbon + 0.1 micron membranes, connected to your existing tap: filtered water all year round, with no jug, no bottles and no electricity.
